Great Blog.
If Washington is interested in Ehrhoff, Buffalo is definitely listening. I don't think he's the shutdown defenseman that Trotz would want though. He does, however, eat big minutes and has a cannon. |

I hate his contract. I'd rather look at Edler. though Ehrhoff would be a great replacement for Green, should GMBM elect to move him. |

Join the club on wanting a 1st or 2nd D-man. I think half of the league would love to have one of those. Just think, if everyone had a D-man like that on their team, the scoring would drop. Then, the league would be struggling to figure out how to change the rules to produce more scoring.
Every couple of years or so, the player focus changes from forwards to D-men. Scoring goes up, so everyone seeks a shut down D-man. Scoring goes down, and everyone wants a consistent forward that scores.
In the mean time, the teams overpay for these guys, and wonder why they are so close to the cap. If the GM's would stand together, and not pay the lazy players the long term contracts for billions of dollars then things would settle down, and become reasonable again. However, this is an entertainment industry, so you get what you pay for.
Maybe to pay back the owners, and players for high priced tickets, the fans should stop going to the games, or paying for the cable/dish season. If the owners aren't making money then they would have to change their ways. I love hockey, and I love my team, however there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Do you want an over expanded league with high prices, or do you want a smaller league with better players, and lower prices? You make the choice.
I personally hate the shoot out, and the short OT period. Oh, and don't get me started on the trapezoid...lol.
Thanks for listening. |

Either serve a purpose as a possible Green replacement, but not the guy to acquire to play with Green. |

He may not be elite, but I think Alzner is just fine as a "shutdown" defenseman. |

He had an on and off year, but I tend to think Alzner is our best defenseman on most nights. Next year are big years for him and Carlson, they really need to step up and be that true #1 pair we've missed for a while. |
